Arghhh!!! Why am I so unlucky?! The 1st Makeup Artist that I engaged got pregnant and by Oct she will be gg to deliver soon so recommended a few other MUAs to me.. Contacted 2 MUAs that she recommended, the 1st one who replied is charging at a very high rate so I rejected and confirmed with the 2nd one.. Haiz, that's where troublesss begins.. Her name is JENNIS WONG (Everyone, pls take note of her name and nv engage her for any functions!!) When I confirmed with her in March earlier on, I transferred $150 as deposit to her and told her I need to be ready by 1pm.. She said no prob, can meet me at the hotel at 11am or 11.30am..
3 weeks ago, I met up with the hotel coordinator to discuss some details and was told that the check-in time is 12pm.. So, I emailed JENNIS WONG to ask if she can arrive at 12pm instead and attached some pics of the hairstyle that I preferred.. I was shocked when she replied that she has another bride at 12.30pm and that she will try to arrange and get back to me again.. A few days later, she called me in the morning close to 10am saying that the hairstyle that I want is very plain if I din put on any hair accessories and kept sweet-talking me into buying a hairband from her.. She will order the hairband from a lady who can customise the hairband for her and it costs $68 for a very simple design like one or two rows of diamonte.. Reluctantly, I said ok..... she den sms me her account no so that I can transfer $68 to her.. I was in school that time so din giv it a serious thought.. when I got home in the afternoon, I called her at ard 4plus to inform her that I don't want the hairband cos it may not match my earrings and necklace and it's expensive.. she said she will call the lady to cancel the order for me.. but at night ard 11plus she dropped me an sms to say that the order cannot be void and she has paid the deposit so I must still pay her..
The next morning, I called her to tell her that I really don't need the hairband and I'm not gg to transfer the money to her.. She then began her sweet-talking agn saying that the workmanship is very gd, looks like from Tiffany n co type, don't worry, don't cancel the order and waste the deposit, will try to HELP ME sell to her other clients in future.. I was thinking that's not helping me at all, she's actually giving me problems instead! In the end, I still refuse to pay for the freaking exp hairband.. Besides this hairband issue, the most impt thing is I still dunno if she will turn up punctually on that day! So, I asked her abt the timing and I was shocked agn to hear that she has another bride at 10.30am! WTH! I was very angry and asked how she can make it like tat.. and so, her sweet-talking came in... said if really can't make it, will push away the other bride cos that was a last minute deal.. or will arrange for someone to set my hair 1st while waiting for her to arrive.. kept telling me not to worry, let her contact the other bride 1st and get back to me.. How can I not worry after all these nonsense??? and the date is so popular and near already, how to find another MUA to replace her??
I was so stressed and upset over it lo.. After discussing with B, I decided to fire her.. So, that same evening, I called her agn.. She din answer, din bother to return my call or drop mi an sms.. I was really pissed off with her.... Then, started to look for another MUA and luckily managed to find one who is available.. Although this 3rd MUA that I found is a newbie, she is a nice person.. her portfolio looks gd too.. taught me how to deal with JENNIS WONG to get back my deposit and offered to provide a trial session for me foc~ haha..
4 days later, JENNIS WONG finally sms me to confirm the time.. Gave her a call when I reached home from sch to ask for my deposit.. here goes our arguement......
JW:"if you had told me nicely abt ur concerns before looking for another MUA, i would have refunded u fully but now is u who played me out so at most i will onli refund u 50% to cool both sides down since we r both at wrong"
ME:"I tried calling u last sat before i look for another MUA but is u nv pick up and din even bother to return my call!"
JW:"i was busy on the job that day so couldn't call u. i've already assured u that everything is ok so u shouldn't be worried"
ME:"u could hav at least dropped me a sms to say u r busy and even after ur work u din contact me or anything. u told mi u hav brides at 1030 and 1230 and the date is getting so near and u can't confirm the time wif me, how can i not worry? At the time when u accepted my deposit, u shd not hav accepted other brides' requests which will clash wif my time and u said will get someone to set hair 1st while waiting for u, i think it's not fair to mi or other brides and u dun deserve $300!"
JW:"getting someone to set ur hair 1st is the worst case scenario.. i already told u i can push the other bride away cos she's last min one and actually i'm not in the wrong place cos is u who requested for a change in time. i can dun refund u ur deposit u know but now i jus wan to cool things down abit so i will refund u 50%" (she kept pushing the blame to me! before this, i even suggested to her if she really can't make it at 12pm, we can start makeup at 11plus at the hotel lounge while waiting for check-in)
ME:"I dun wan to hear any of ur explainations anymore. I will sms u my account no and u decide how much u wan to refund me. If i dun receive the full refund, i will definitely take the necessary actions against u"
Immediately after our conversations, she transferred 50% of my deposit to me and sms mi a few times to continue her story.... I din bother to reply and will go to forums to warn other brides abt her.. enough abt her.. shall look forward to my trial makeup next wk!
