A Fruitful Weekend

Finally got our dream bed! Simmons! It's the backcare advanced S3000 series.. tink i'm gonna be late for work everyday.. haha.. the auntie who served us is so cute.. good service!

Bought tis L-shaped sofa from the same company tat we bought our TV console but at the Furniture Mall branch.. special promo price for tis sofa at 1999 after GST 2138+ but i managed to bargain for further discount to 2097.20.. haha.. quite satisfied with my bargaining skills..

tis sofa is full leather so the price is actually veri good.. we chose black colour for easy maintainence.. initially, i dun really like the design thou B love it.. i was contemplating between tis sofa and the one we saw last week.. but after i sat on tis sofa, it mus be tis one! cos it's so comfy and the head rest is adjustable.. the other sofa has a more contemporary design but not as comfortable.. their price is almost the same so we got the more comfortable one..

We were jus in time to catch this scene, it's the NDP preview! below the pic there is the Singapore Flyer.. the planes fly too fast so onli managed to take a bit of the Singapore Flyer, haha.. den we went to Geylang to tabao durians.. on the bus home, we still saw the last bit of the NDP fireworks.. haha.. so lucky lor..

Meet-up with Contractor and Visit to IFC@Sungei Kadut

Arranged to meet a contractor at his office for some discussion and to view the materials.. His office is damn ulu lar, gotta take train to Sebawang and transfer to bus in.. thou i did some research before gg still alighted one bus stop earlier.. sorry B! in the end is B bring me to the place instead.. anyway, discussion with the contractor went smoothly.. at least he noes wat i wan, is on the same frequency kind.. will look out for other contractors for price comparison before making our final decision..
after the discussion, we went to the International Furniture Centre at Sungei Kadut since it's on the way.. bought a TV console there, original price was $1399 and managed to bargain to $1150.. still abit heartache cos it's above our budget for TV console.. it's a 2 piece design so guess tat explains the price.. considering a dressing table from the same shop oso.. the salesperson agreed to giv a cheaper price for the dressing table if i decide to get it in future.. our master bedroom so small how to squeeze in a dressing table?? most prob gotta giv it a miss.... came back and read some bad reviews on this shop.. poor after sales services like delayed delivery date, delivered wrong item or wrong colour got mi worried.. hope we will be one of the lucky ones without these problems..
We oso saw a nice sofa but din buy yet.. there's 30% cos of GSS now.. plan to go to The Furniture Mall at Beach Rd next weekend to check out the wardrobe company there den shun bian go buy the sofa.. Again, read some reviews on the bad quality of furnitures like dining chairs and tables by this company... no complaints abt their sofas so far but still checking wif fellow forumers abt it to make sure before buying.. quality issues are more serious than delayed delivery or confused delivery items so mus be careful tis time.. mus do more research before shopping!
Oh ya, need to buy my Simmons mattress oso.. hope can get gd deals next wk.. i love GSS! Got a feeling our pockets will hav a super big hole veri soon............

Swarovski Crystalline Ballpoint Pen

Finally settled the pen to be used for signing on our marriage cert.. Initially wanted to buy a white feather pen but it is expensive and the feather is not as nice as the picture shown online.. tot of borrowing mont blanc pen from wendy which she agreed without hesitating (thanks! though i noe she dun read my blog, haha).. but mont blanc pen so exp, was afraid i will lose or spoil the pen so better look for alternatives..
one day, i was lurking ard the forum when i saw someone selling Swarovski pen at $110 each.. so exp! crazy! Swarovski's website onli selling at $24 USD lor.. the prob is it doesn't ship internationally to Singapore... so gotta tink of other solutions.. went to visit the Swarovski's outlet at Suntec but they don't sell pens... finally, tried my luck on ebay and was soooo happy to see it.. haha.. so i ordered the pen together with 10 refill ink plus shipping, total cost is close to $50 which was quite a reasonable price..

' Create your own stories and sign your best deals with this ballpoint pen which will add sparkle to any desk. The clip features the Swarovski brand name, while the body sparkles with crystal chatons. It comes in a stylish velvet pouch and its high-quality refill can be replaced. '

Crab and Durian Season

Second time to Chin Huat Seafood Restaurant.. this time with FL & Matt.. Food still taste as great and their service improved tremendously.. maybe cos weekday not as crowded so our order and serving time was prompt.. reasonable price too, highly recommended!
Tink they've got the best fried man tou, outside so crispy, inside so soft.. best with chilli crab sauce, yummmmmmmmy!
This steamed man tou look so lonely and not as appetising as the fried one rite... haha.. but Matt loves it plain so this is for him..

Chilli crab! I would say it's comparable to no signboard but at a cheaper price.. the meat is just so juicy and the fried man tou dipped with the sauce... *slurps*

Black pepper crab is oso nice! Pepper taste not tat strong and still retain the sweetness of the crab.. would love to try their signature golden sauce crab (or butter cream crab? confused with crab party's signature crab le..hmm).. besides crab, other dishes like veg, pork ribs and not to forget their mango sago dessert are oso veri nice.. hope to go back soon!
On B's bday ytd, the 2 of us went to serangoon to eat crab party's crab and 717's durian.. reached there at 5plus and we are their first customer.. haha.. forgot to bring camera and both of us using non-camera phone so cannot take pics, wasted... chilli crab there is more spicy but still nice! fried man tou used to be bigger, now shrink liao and nv fry till golden crispy like chin huat so abit disappointed.. food there is slightly cheaper than chin huat but service not as gd.. there's no crowd at all when we were there so the waitresses all veri free one.. when we were eating crab, our hands oily oily they nv bother or notice that we had difficulty refilling tea to drink.. until when one of the waitresses see me opening the cover of the teapot den she cum over to take the teapot to add hot water for us.. still need to improve on the standard of their waitresses..
After crab, it's durian time! finally got to eat mao shan wang! it's so creamy and really melts in your mouth tat kind.. even if i'm full from the crab dinner, still can eat, how can resist the temptation?? realised that after eating mao shan wang, the strong durian aftertaste or smell will not be stuck in your mouth like other breeds of durians.. though their price is slightly more exp than other places, the quality of their service and durians are just so worth the money.. got a couple sitting at the table next to us eating halfway den bring half of the opened durian back to the uncle say the meat not dry one so the uncle opened another one for them and say previous one won't charge them.. they oso provide those packet plain water and tissue paper for customers.. so considerate of them.. thumbs up!

Durians!

It's the durian season! Finally got to eat it! B's fren told him Blk 169 Stirling Rd got nice durians so we went there to check it out since so near my place.. 1st time we went there, it was closed already and it was raining.. so sad.. 2nd time we went ard 7plus, the seller told us sold out liao.. i asked him wat time he open his stall and he said ard 2pm.. we will be back! tat veri same afternoon we went to bugis to queue for the Nando's Chicken, when it was almost our turn to be seated, the staff told us the oven is down so need to wait for the technician to go fix it so we couldn't eat the delicious looking chicken.. no chicken no durians, whole day so suay!
3rd time we went ard 3plus, durians here we come! when we reached there, 猫山王 was sold out already... business so gd, tot we were already very early.. where got ppl eat so early eat durians de... singaporeans really veri kiasu! so we bought another species called D101.. went to anchorpoint to eat KFC den keep smelling the fragrance of durians while eating.. haha.. still took bus and B gotta cover the plastic bag if not the smell really very strong.. so paiseh throughout our journey home.. haha..
bought 2 durians at $26, 3.8kg for both.. it's those bitter sweet kind, so yummy.. we skipped dinner cos the durians really veri filling.. but we onli managed to finish a box.. the other box left it for my sis and mum to eat.. finally got to eat nice durians after craving for a few weeks and gg back to stall for the 3rd time.. 真是皇天不负苦心人!
we will be back at 2pm for 猫山王 one day!

Forever Friends Cross Stitch Cushions

Finished stitching both cushions finally.. completed faster than i planned initially cos it is less tedious compared to the clock.. the cross stitch squares are bigger and the picture of the bear is printed on the canvas provided so i dun have to count the squares, jus need to follow the colors and stitch which is so much more convenient..
B and mi went to IKEA to buy the inner cushions at $3.50 each, so cheap! den we went to Plaza Sing Spotlight to get fabric to sew on the canvas to act as a backing for the cushion.. i had no prob sewing the 3 sides of the cushion cover.. after stuffing in the cushion, how to seal up the last side??? tried to google for answers but dun understand the instructions, grrrrrr... mum kept giving mi suggestions but dun really know how to execute her ideas into reality.. haha.. so i came up wif my own solutions.. applied 2 different techniques to the 2 cushions.. one i actually sewed a row of small buttons at the bottom to clip it up so the cover is removable from the cushion.. for the second cushion, i wanted to try sewing the bottom side without revealing the threads on the outside.. managed to hide the threads but din grab the fabric properly so at the bottom part abit out of shape.. haha..

can you spot the difference btn the 2 pics? when i was taking pic of the cushions, there was a housefly hanging ard the cushions.. tried to smack it away before i positioned my camera but in the end when i took the pic, still c it in the pic! it's at the top left hand corner of the left cushion in the 1st pic... so gotta chase it away and retake again.. haha..
