Our Ring Bearer Bowl

My sis went to far east to shop den saw a shop selling wedding stuff and our ring bearer bowl is on display, with our names on it! exactly the same! OMG! The seller uses it as a sample to show ppl.. i got a shock when my sis msg to inform mi.. haha..

B had a class last sat morning so decided to whip up a meal since i'm free in the morning.. cooked bak kut teh and grilled teriyaki chicken wings.. went to the market early in the morning to buy the ingredients - garlic, bak kut, canned mushrooms, chicken wings, red chilli, yan sui (greeny leaves to put on soup one, dunno wat's the english name..haha..) it's the 1st time i went to the wet market myself.. usually got my mum ard den i onli help carry stuffs.. tis time i jus go to the usual stalls tat she visits and ask the uncles and aunties for help.. "我要煮bak kut teh 要买哪一种肉ar??''.. haha..

Bak kut teh spices bought from yu yan sang cos got national day storewide 20% sale.. haha.. terriyaki sauce brand is kikkoman.. jus wash the chicken wings and massage them wif the teriyaki sauce to marinate can liao.. i admit i'm not a gd cook.. thanks to all these ready made spices and sauces!

I'm proud that my rice is successfully cooked.. the other time cook rice at B's place end up added too much water den the rice become gluey.. so disgusting.. haha.. this time it's perfect! yeah!




B said the soup taste "不够浓" cos he likes the herbs and spices but i dun like so to mi the soup is jus nice.. next time i'll put less water.. some of B's comments: "肉还不错", "有待进步".. still got 11 packets of spices for mi to try out.. haha.. Pa always complains dunno wat to eat for dinner so cooked more and saved some for my parents but forgot to ask them how's the taste.. no complaints means still ok la huh..

Bought small chilli so tat the black sauce will be hot enuf den nice.. But my fingers got the hot sensation for the rest of day.. chilli padi so powerful!!



Bak kut teh gotta hav 'teh' rite.. so brew tea to go with it.. But we din drink much.. haha..

These chicken wings are cooked in 3 different batches in the oven/toaster?? cos i dunno how long it will take to cook so mus test the timing.. 1st round put longer to make sure it is cooked.. end up overcooked, the meat too dry.. "你煮太久了啦!" :( 2nd round reduce by 5 mins.. "比较好一点".. 3rd round reduce another 5 mins.. finally B said: "好香哦, 你快点吃, 好好吃哦, 好想去bbq"..

Cooking is fun but tiring cos need to clean up after tat.. but it's worth it.. let mi tink of wat to cook next time.. cannot be too difficult one.. hmmm.. haha..
